i went to a staff dinner & dance party the other night. and i danced. i danced a lot. and out of my work friends, one girl just did not want to dance. she said she doesn’t like to, she’s doesn’t want to, she doesn’t feel comfortable to dance. for this girl, and every other person in the world who will not dance, i feel truly, most sorry for. dancing is the most freeing, uplifting, moving (literally) and wonderful thing in the world … and you don’t want to do it? i can’t fathom this. i understand shyness, and awkwardness and the caring what people think thing, but, honestly, nobody cares what you look like when you dance. what people will actually care about is that you’re not dancing, you’re not having the most fun & basically, you’re not living the moment. dance is about life, about feeling rhythm (or lack there of), a feeling of letting go and above all a feeling of true happiness & FUN. so for those who don’t dance, or clap their hands, or anything like that, well, you know the saying, dance like no one is watching (because nobody is).
